Alex Sangha, Founder
Alex is a Registered Clinical Social Worker and Registered Clinical Counsellor with a MSc in Public Administration and Public Policy from the Department of Government from the London School of Economics, a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of British Columbia. |
Ash, President
Ash works as a Primary Care Nurse at Vancouver Coastal Health and was the best friend of Sher Vancouver’s beloved late social coordinator, January Marie Lapuz (the first trans person to hold an Executive position within the organization). |
Sharon, Vice President
Sharon is the woman's coordinator for Sher Feline - a group for queer gender marginalized folks and is one of the hosts for the Sher Vancouver Podcast. She is an educator with the Surrey School District and hopes to bring representation to youth in schools. |
Annie, Director
Annie Ohana (she/her) is a queer Surrey Schools educator who practices liberatory and anti-oppression pedagogy. With a Masters in Equity Studies and years of curriculum specialty work and community organizing, smashing the cis-heteronormative patriarchy and celebrating 2SLGBTQ+ pride is her goal. |
Josh, Director
Josh is a strong believer in diversity and human rights and the need to respect everyone regardless of religious belief, ethnicity, gender or sexual identity. He is also a Founding Member of the Dignity Seniors Society which aims to support vulnerable LGBTQ seniors. |
Nirat, Director
A Queer South Asian womxn of colour breaking boundaries through her work in the trades. She's a fierce advocate and volunteers her time supporting marginalized folx who need help from young migrant/refugee youth to sponsoring a 2SLGBTQ+ person from abroad. |

Vincent is a Men’s Group Facilitator with Sher Vancouver. He has completed a Bachelors in Business Administration and has a strong passion to help others and to provide support to the queer community. |

Christian, Administration
Christian thrives off building long lasting connections with everyone around him, he is truly a people person. Currently he is starting his own business reselling shoes and streetwear. As Sher is growing rapidly so is our team and workload. Christian is now our new Administrative Assistant to Alex Sangha the founder of Sher Vancouver. |
Kayden, Advisor
Kayden works to support Sher Vancouver in adopting mental wellness, exploring queer and racial identity formation, understanding intergenerational trauma and navigating issues related to mental and sexual health. He believes in queer liberation across all intersections. |
Gurpreet, HIV Liaison
Gurpreet is graduate student of Engineering at The University of British Columbia. He likes to uplift his friends’ spirit when they are down and guide them in the right direction. All his life he has supported his friends and now he supports the fellow LGBTQIA+ members of the South Asian community. |
Anoushka, Facilitator
Anoushka is a Women's Facilitator with Sher Vancouver and a 4th-year student at the University of British Columbia studying Psychology and Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice. She has a passion for helping out fellow members of the South Asian Queer community and aspires to do so professionally in the future. |
Maheen, Facilitator
Maheen is one of the Sher Feline Facilitators. After moving to Canada, she found her home in Sher Vancouver, and tries to be actively involved in the community. She is a baby Sher, a Business Student and an aspiring Actor. Her motto of life is to always be kind and always have fun. |

Sunita is a Queer South Asian who is actively working on promoting the visibility of the Queer South Asian community and the resources available to them. She is also a freelance writer and creator/host of her podcast, Come Out & Shout. |
Shakthi, Facilitator
Shakthi is a Men's Group Facilitator and a university graduate working in the Software Engineering field. He has a keen interest in joining queer spaces to spread awareness and visibility to minorities that exist within the community. |
Muqaddar, Outreach
Is a queer second generation Pakistani Canadian who works at Community Futures North Okanagan, a local not for profit. He holds a bachelor of business administration and is currently working towards his CPA designation. He is interested in providing visibility and support to the South Asian LGBTQ+ community as a whole. |

Angit (she/her) is a queer Sikh Punjabi woman who is passionate about utilising this role to make positive changes. She strives to increase awareness and queer Sikh and South Asian visibility to promote increased acceptance. She is a Physiotherapist by profession and resides with her wife in Surrey, BC. |

Joshna (she/her) is a queer Gujarati, Kenyan born cis-woman. She values learning objectively about the communities and cultures around her and contributing to making positive changes where she can. Her professional background is in Occupational Therapy. |

Jaskamal (she/her) is a freelancer who focuses on catalyzing and empowering communities. She creates an impact by leveraging her business, marketing, and strategy expertise for non-profits on a mission to make the world a better place for all. |
Vinay, Designer
Vinay completed the Digital Graphic Design Program at Vancouver Community College and a Diploma in Classical Animation at Vancouver Film School. He is the Director of the upcoming feature documentary entitled Emergence: Out of the Shadows. |
Bhavesh, Videographer
For the last 15 years, Bhavesh, is an independent filmmaker, music video director and cinematographer. Many of his films have gone on to screen and win awards at numerous film festivals around the world. |

Susan, Advisor
Susan Ruzic (she/her) is a retired elementary school educator and the previous Assistant Director of Social Justice programs at the BC Teacher's Federation. She is the past president of the Peace and Global Educators Provincial Specialist Association which has evolved into the Anti-Oppression Educators Collective, and she currently sits on the AOEC Executive as a member at large. |
